On this Tuesday, there's a full slate with games spanning from 4 p.m. ET to past midnight.

Three players I'll be backing for today's MLB player props are Adley Rutschman, Jared Jones and Juan Soto.

Let's begin in Baltimore.

MLB Player Props: Tuesday, May 28

  • Adley Rutschman Over 0.5 RBIs (+155, DraftKings)
  • Jared Jones Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+106, FanDuel)
  • Juan Soto Over 1.5 Total Bases (-110, DraftKings)

Rutschman has a hit in five of his last six games and enters tonight hitting .300 right on the nose.

He's particularly enjoyed his last five games against the White Sox and Red Sox, as he's driven in a run in four of his last five games and has nine RBI in total in that span. Rutschman now has 37 RBI on the season and is tied for 11th in MLB.

The Orioles are also on a five-game winning streak — their longest of the season — while averaging 6.8 runs per game during that span.

They're favored again tonight with Brayan Bello getting the ball for Boston. Bello is 5-2 on the season, but he has a 5.74 ERA in June, which has elevated his ERA to 4.04 on the year.

One of his losses came to these Orioles back on April 9 in Boston when he allowed three runs, including one earned.

In that game, Rutschman went 0-for-3 against Bello, and he's just 1-for-8 against him overall. However, Rutschman still finished that game 2-for-5 with an RBI single.

If Rutschman gets five plate appearances again, two of them may come against Boston relievers if he can't crack Bello sooner. Of course, he could also drive in a run with a walk, sacrifice fly or RBI groundout.

Rutschman has driven in a run in three of his last five games against Boston.

Given how hot the Orioles are right now, +155 is an excellent price for their RBI leader.

Pick: Adley Rutschman Over 0.5 RBIs (+155)

The Pirates are in Detroit for a quick two-game series, and runs may be at a premium due to the pitching matchups — Jared Jones vs. Tarik Skubal tonight and Paul Skenes vs. Jack Flaherty tomorrow.

Skubal is currently the favorite for the AL Cy Young, however, I find Jones' odds for this game more appealing.

Through his first 10 career starts, Jones has a 3.04 ERA and 1.6 WAR. He's amassed 68 strikeouts in 59 innings of work, and he's punched out seven batters or more in seven of his 10 starts.

Remove the Giants from the equation and that hit rate increases to seven of eight starts.

Jones will be in excellent position to continue his run against the Tigers tonight.

The Tigers are ninth in strikeout percentage against right-handed starting pitchers. They're coming into today's game hot, as they're on a three-game winning streak and scored 14 runs against Toronto on Sunday.

However, in the past 10 days, they've also struck 10 times or more against Zac Gallen, Cole Ragans and Kevin Gausman, two of which are right-handed.

Jones has struck out 10 batters himself twice already, but his max on FanDuel tonight is nine strikeouts at +360.

Nine and 10 are both within his reach. However, if he pitches five or six innings, he should at least hit seven tonight and cash this over.

Juan Soto Over 1.5 Total Bases (-110)

In the month of May, the Yankees are 18-6 and have hit 42 home runs. Juan Soto has accounted for six of them, and he's now up to 14 on the season.

Soto is sixth in MLB in home runs and is fifth in OPS. He's +260 on FanDuel to leave the yard tonight, and against Griffin Canning, he'll have a good opportunity.

Canning enters tonight's start with a 5.05 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 41.7% hard-hit percentage. Canning has allowed nine home runs in just 51 2/3 innings and seven of them have been to left-handed batters.

Lefties are hitting .307 with a .935 OPS and also have six doubles and a triple against Canning.

Having spent his career in the NL before this season, Soto hasn't had the opportunity to face Canning yet. However, Soto is hitting .306 with a 1.007 against right-handed pitchers this season. He's hit 12 of his home runs against right-handed pitchers and 11-of-14 have been in night games.

Soto has a hit in seven of his last 10 games. He's recorded two total bases in six of those and also three of his last five games.

While I like his chances of hitting a home run tonight, a double or two singles would suffice as well.

Pick: Juan Soto Over 1.5 Total Bases (-110)
