At this year's trade deadline, there was not a frontline starter that changed teams. However, Edward Cabrera was one of the top names on the market and it is easy to see why. This season, Cabrera has a 3.52 ERA (his lowest since 2022) and he already has set his career-high with 126 strikeouts in 117 and 2/3 innings.

Cabrera has given up 11 runs (nine earned) in his last two starts, but that did not stop him reaching six strikeouts in either outing. However, the last time Cabrera faced the Braves a few weeks ago, he allowed just two hits and one earned run while striking out a season-high 11 in eight innings. Cabrera has fanned six batters or more in four straight and eight of his last 10 starts.

The Braves present a strong matchup for him because they are ninth in strikeout rate against right-handed pitchers. Even while the Braves scored 13 over the weekend, Mets starters Nolan McLean, Clay Holmes, and David Peterson all went over their strikeout props while combining for 19 strikeouts.

Cabrera has held the current Braves' hitters to a .149 average and 28 strikeouts, fanning Ronald Acuna Jr., Marcell Ozuna, Ozzie Albies, Sean Murphy, Matt Olson, and Eli White at least twice. Five or six innings should help him get to six strikeouts tonight.

Nationals vs Yankees Player Props: Cam Schlittler Eyeing Deep Outing

The Yankees salvaged another abysmal series against the Red Sox with a victory on Sunday night. However, prior to that series, they entered on a five-game winning streak and Cam Schlittler was a factor. Schlittler is coming off his best and longest outing of his young career as he was perfect through the first six innings against the Rays. He finished with eight strikeouts in 6 and 2/3 innings, allowing just one hit while walking two.

Schlittler has impressed this season with a .235 xBA, 24.8% strikeout rate, and 31.6% chase rate. Tonight, he gets the Nationals, who rank 20th in wRC+ against right-handed pitchers. They also are not a high-strikeout team as they are 26th in strikeout rate this season.

Schlittler has five strikeouts in five of his seven MLB starts with the two exceptions coming against the Blue Jays and Astros, who also do not strike out often. However, if he does not have a lot of lengthy at-bats searching for strikeouts tonight, that could help him work deeper into the game. Schlittler has thrown 90+ pitches in three of his last four starts, which he means he should have the leash to work into the sixth inning and record 17 outs tonight.

Tigers vs Athletics Player Props: Greene in Prime Hitting Spot

The Tigers will send ace Tarik Skubal to the mound, looking to start a new winning streak after a 10-8 loss yesterday. However, carrying the offense this season has been Riley Greene, who is one of two players currently 25 or younger with 30 home runs and 90 RBI this season. He has done so while being streaky, but right now he is in the middle of another heater.

Eight of Greene's last 11 hits have gone for extra bases with three doubles and three home runs, carrying a 1.000 OPS over the last two weeks. Two of those home runs have come in the last three games, hitting his 31st home run of the season yesterday. Tonight, he will take his hacks in the hitter-friendly Sutter Health Park in a great matchup.

JT Ginn ranks in the ninth percentile with a 11.2% barrel rate and fifth percentile with a 48.5% hard hit percentage. He has been torched by left-handed hitters this season as they are hitting .339 with eight doubles, eight home runs, and a 1.057 OPS. Greene ranks in the 96th percentile with a 17.7% barrel rate and 90th percentile with a .524 xSLG.

This matchup puts Greene in a prime spot for a home run and he is +400 on BetMGM. However, Greene has a hit in each in each of his last three games and he is 1-for-3 against Ginn thus far. A double would also get us two total bases.
