Reds vs Rockies Pick, Betting Analysis
Starting for the Rockies tonight is Gabriel Hughes, and I'm targeting his props by going under 4.5 strikeouts. Getting +108 at BetRivers is currently the best line on the board, but there is also a +102 available at FanDuel. It's pretty widely available, and I like the value on it all the way down to -135.
Hughes is not a major prospect. The most important angle to consider here is that he's not a guy that the Rockies generally let go super deep into games, at least based on how they managed him in the minors. Furthermore, pitching at Coors Field makes it highly unlikely he'll be able to work deep into this matchup anyway because he'll likely be getting hit around by Cincinnati. We also know that the altitude at Coors Field heavily suppresses strikeouts.
This is a spot that THE BAT X projection system has targeted really well. The model projects only about four strikeouts here for Hughes tonight, giving us roughly a 63% chance that he stays under the 4.5 line. You can find this line at plus money or even money pretty much everywhere right now, making it an excellent value play on the board.
Pick: Gabriel Hughes Under 4.5 Strikeouts (+108 at BetRivers, play down to -135)
