Mariners vs Nationals MLB Betting Preview
The prop I’m targeting today is Nasim Nunez to steal a base.
This is one of my favorite stolen-base spots on the board because the matchup grades out exceptionally well in my stolen-base model. Assuming Mitch Garver is behind the plate, this matchup lands in the 96th percentile when combining the pitcher, catcher and bullpen factors that influence stolen-base opportunities.
Nunez has already gone 25-for-28 on stolen-base attempts this season, so we know he’s both aggressive and efficient once he gets on base. The matchup only enhances that strength. Bryce Miller is relatively easy to run on, Seattle’s bullpen is favorable for stolen-base opportunities, and Garver has historically been a catcher runners like to attack.
If Nunez reaches base, the runway is there. At +420, and even down to around +310, I think there’s clear value on him swiping a bag in one of the best base-stealing environments available today.
Pick: Nasim Nunez Over 0.5 Stolen Bases (+309 or Better)
