I'm running this back after an easy cash last night. Nick Martinez breezed through the Rangers' scuffling lineup before running into trouble in the seventh inning. Heading into yesterday, Texas was tied for last in wRC+ vs. RHPs since the start of August. They have sole possession of last after last night's performance. Tampa Bay will send a better righty to the mound in Drew Rasmussen.
The Rangers also trot out a better pitcher in Jacob deGrom. The Rays had no problem with Kumar Rocker yesterday. deGrom will be a stiffer test, but he's had an uneven stretch. The future Hall of Famer had three good starts and three bad ones in August. deGrom faces a Tampa Bay squad that ranks fifth in OPS, wOBA, and wRC+ vs. righties since the beginning of August.
