World Baseball Classic Pool B Odds, Predictions
Pool B is definitely skewed toward the top teams. The United States enters the tournament as one of the favorites to win the WBC, and Mexico is the only group with nearly enough talent to compete with the U.S. in Pool B.
Team USA features MVP winners and candidates for many awards across the board. Aces Paul Skenes and Tarik Skubal, the reigning NL and AL Cy Young Award winners, are joined by Aaron Judge and Cal Raleigh, the AL MVP and runner-up, respectively, to form a star-studded core.
Surrounding those four are even more stars, including Bryce Harper, Bobby Witt Jr., Kyle Schwarber, Gunnar Henderson, Will Smith, and Alex Bregman, who will help create one of the best lineups in the tournament. The rest of the pitching staff features ace Logan Webb and hard-throwing relievers such as Mason Miller and Griffin Jax.
Mexico is the only other team with MLB players up and down its roster, but it doesn't have the same star power at the top of the roster that the United States team does. Randy Arozarena and Jarren Duran make up the core of a very solid outfield, while Alejandro Kirk is the big name behind the dish. Andrés Muñoz will lock down closer duties for Mexico, but shaky starting pitching will put this team in a bit of danger against more talented rosters.
Team Italy's roster features a surprising amount of big MLB names, from Aaron Nola on the pitching staff to rising stars and former top prospects like Vinnie Pasquantino, Jac Caglianone, and Kyle Teel in the lineup. The Italians don't have the same depth that Mexico or Team USA does, but still have a solid group overall.
At the bottom of the group will likely be Brazil and Great Britain, who have some notable names but a lack of pitching and overall depth on their rosters.
While the United States is expected to dominate the group, Mexico will be hungry to pull off the upset in a game that will almost certainly decide who wins Pool B.
What is Kalshi?
Different than a traditional sportsbook and available in most states, Kalshi allows users to make predictions across several unique markets, including sports, entertainment, elections, and even weather.
Kalshi operates on a contract-based system where users buy "contracts" (priced between 1–99 cents) based on whether they believe a specific event will happen. The price of each contract fluctuates in real time based on market sentiment, and like the stock market, traders can sell positions early to lock in profits (or minimize losses).
