Miller has only made two starts in the majors this season, and he recorded four and five strikeouts respectively in those games. Miller struck out 12 in 14 innings with Triple-A this year and had 28 strikeouts in 21 innings with Triple-A last year.
Yankees games typically go one of two ways. Either the Yankees will hit Miller hard, or they'll strike out a bunch of times. I'm inclined to believe he can get by them in his third big league start of the season.
J.D. Martinez 2+ Total Bases
Martinez has been on fire this season. He is leading the league in slugging percentage and already has 13 home runs. It was already toward the end of the season last year by the time he had 13 home runs. Domingo German has allowed a .189 ISO to right-handed hitters this season; Martinez has a ridiculous .375 ISO against right-handed pitching this year.
All we need from Martinez is a double or two singles to cover this leg of the Same Game Parlay. He could also get there by hitting his 14th home run of the year.
Dodgers Moneyline
I like the Dodgers in this game. While the Yankees have Aaron Judge, and Giancarlo Stanton and Josh Donaldson have returned, the Dodgers lineup is also very good.
Besides Martinez, Mookie Betts and Will Smith have good matchups here. Betts has a .259 ISO against right-handed pitching this year and Smith has a .188 ISO against right-handed pitching this year. The Yankees have the better bullpen if this game is close late, but the Dodgers are at home and have the better starting pitcher.
I expect the Dodgers to get the best of German on their way to a conclusive victory in this Sunday night matchup.
