Yoshinobu Yamamoto Props

4.5 Strikeouts

Yamamoto struck out 14 hitters in his three spring training games. His strikeout total is set at 4.5 K's across the market. The best line on the over is -105 at Bet365, while FanDuel has the best line on the under is -102. FanDuel also has alternate strikeout props for Yamamoto: 6+ (+182), 7+ (+390), 8+ (+830).

4.5 Hits Allowed

Yamamoto allowed 15 hits over his three spring training games. His total for Thursday is also set 4.5 at nearly every book. DraftKings has the best line on the under at +100 and Caesars has the best line on the over at -117.

2.5 Earned Runs

A select number of books have the option to bet Yamamoto' earned runs, which is set at 2.5. DraftKings and Bet365 have the best number on the under at -150. Bet365 has the best line on the over at +120 odds.

1.5 Walks Allowed

Yamamoto allowed four walks in the three games he played this spring. This prop is 1.5 across the board with the best line on the over listed at -130 on DraftKings, BetMGM and Bet365 and the best line on the under is +100 at DraftKings and BetMGM.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto Props Prediction

It is game two of a long season and given the length of their investment in Yamamoto, I do not expect the Dodgers to overextend him here. However, I do expect him to pitch five innings and/or throw in the neighborhood of 75-80 pitches. For reference, Tyler Glasnow went five innings and threw 77 pitches in the first game.

Yamamoto also threw 72 pitches in 4 2/3 innings in his last spring training start. This means if Yamamoto follows suit and goes five innings as well, we only need him to average one strikeout per inning, which he is already comfortable doing.

Additionally, this will also be his first-ever appearance against the Padres. Yamamoto will hold the advantage against the Padres hitters unfamiliar with his arsenal the first time through the lineup. That may help him hit this line through the first three innings of the game.

If that happens, he may offer additional value as well. FanDuel offers Yamamoto up to eight strikeouts at +900. However, for this start, six (+210) and seven (+430) may be a little more feasible. — Alex Hinton

Pick: Yoshinobu Yamamoto Over 4.5 Strikeouts
