The New York Knicks host game Game 2 against the Hawks and I expect KAT to dominate on the interior. While KAT had a slow start to Game 1, he turned on the jets in the second half where he scored 19 of his 25 points. The Knicks finally leaned into his positional advantage despite Atlanta trying to avoid giving up the switch when they put Okongwu in the action. The Hawks tried to put Dyson Daniels on KAT towards the end of the game; however, that also opened up different vulnerabilities for Atlanta with CJ McCollum put into the action. Considering Okongwu just popped on the injury report with knee inflammation, this advantage may skew even further for KAT and the Knicks. KAT has averaged 20.1 ppg on the season but he’s scored 36, 21, and 25 against Atlanta. He played 33 minutes last game and that could’ve been more had he not been in some foul trouble. I fully expect to see at least 33 minutes again tonight. Atlanta does not have a perfect answer for defending KAT in this series so I’ll continue to lean into that.
