Raptors vs. Cavaliers
In Game 1, the Cleveland Cavaliers made their defensive priority clear: protect the paint at all costs. With Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen anchoring the interior, Brandon Ingram found himself forced to the perimeter.
While Ingram is a mid-range maestro, the Game 2 adjustment for Toronto has to involve more spacing to unclog the driving lanes.
Ingram is projected for 2.0 made threes tonight according to our Action PRO Projections. He only saw a few clean looks from deep in the opener, but with Toronto trying to avoid falling into an 0-2 hole, expect Ingram’s volume from beyond the arc to tick up.
Pick: Brandon Ingram Over 1.5 Three Pointers Made (+100)
Hawks vs. Knicks
Deuce McBride has become a vital cog in the Knicks’ postseason machine.
With Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Karl-Anthony Towns drawing so much defensive gravity in Game 1, McBride was the beneficiary of several high-quality "Type A" kick-out looks.
The Hawks' perimeter defense remains porous, and they frequently sag off the Knicks' secondary shooters to help on Brunson's drives.
Our PRO Projection sits at 1.9, giving us a clear edge over the 1.5-mark. McBride is a shooter that the Knicks trust to stay on the floor for defensive purposes, which keeps his minutes floor high enough to see 5-6 attempts from deep.
Pick: Miles McBride Over 1.5 Three-Pointers Made (-120)
Timberwolves vs. Nuggets
Action PRO is projecting Anthony Edwards to make 3.8 three-pointers in Game 2 against the Nuggets tonight, while the market has set his line at 2.5.
Denver’s defensive strategy in Game 1 was to drop back and dare the Timberwolves' stars to beat them from the outside. Edwards is never one to shy away from that challenge. He attempted double-digit threes in the opener and has the green light to pull up from anywhere in transition.
Given the high-volume usage Edwards sees in the playoffs—often playing north of 40 minutes—a 2.5 line is simply too low for a player who is essentially the entire engine of the Minnesota offense.
