Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Preview

The Cleveland Cavaliers enter this matchup on the second night of a back-to-back, which calls into question their defensive reliability and overall rotation.

There are sneakily a lot of back-to-backs to start this season for teams all over the league, and we are already seeing the physical toll it is taking on players.

When a team like Cleveland is on a quick turnaround, expect sluggish defensive closeouts, potential rest for key starters, and a general lack of execution as tip-off approaches.

Atlanta Hawks Betting Preview

The Atlanta Hawks are dealing with the exact same grueling schedule, but I absolutely love the trade they made to bring Aaron Wiggins into the fold.

Wiggins makes perfect sense for where Atlanta wants to eventually go with their roster under head coach Quin Snyder.

When you are analyzing these messy, fatigue-filled back-to-back spots, I love targeting high-energy bench guys who can come into the game and wreak havoc against tired legs.

You always have the possibility of a starter randomly missing time on the second night of a back-to-back, and Wiggins is exactly the type of depth piece who is positioned to step up and absorb those vacated minutes and usage.

Cavaliers vs Hawks Pick, Betting Analysis

Wiggins has been incredibly consistent, scoring 16, 16, 19, and 12 points before getting hooked at 10 against a locked-in, desperate Miami team last time out.

I love the bounce-back spot for him here. Early in the season, he was operating with high efficiency on much lower volume, but we are seeing a clear and distinct progression in his offensive role.

Wiggins' raw shot attempts are steadily up, having cleared 10-plus attempts in his last three games. Quin Snyder clearly likes what he sees and is giving him much more of a green light to hunt his shot.

I am targeting Wiggins to go over 12.5 points tonight, but if you shop the market, you can currently find 11.5 out there at some shops—make sure you get the best number.

Pick: Aaron Wiggins Over 12.5 Points (-103, DraftKings)
