The Miami Heat (23-21) and Portland Trail Blazers (22-22) will face off in the NBA tonight. Tipoff is set for 10:00 p.m. ET from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. The game will broadcast live on KUNP.

The Blazers are 2.5-point favorites over the Heat on the spread (Trail Blazers -2.5), with the over/under set at 240.5 total points. Portland is a 52-cent favorite to win outright, while Miami is priced at 49 cents to pull off the upset on Fanatics Markets.

Heat vs Trail Blazers NBA Preview

I was looking at the initial spread line for the Trail Blazers at -2.5, and my projections differ.

Jrue Holiday and Jerami Grant are both questionable, and they've missed some time, so they could be back for this game.

The Blazers are on the first leg of a back-to-back in this spot, coming off three days' rest, and they may play those guys in one of the two games.

If you just hold them out one more night, they get an extra night's rest, and you play them the next night against the Raptors.

Given that these guys might actually be out for this game, I'd have it closer to a pick'em. Actually, I'd have this closer to Portland -1.5.

I understand it's not a great spot for the Heat, being on the third stop of a West Coast road trip and against a rested Portland team, but I think the Blazers have been playing a little bit above their heads recently (8-2 in their last 10 games), so it's a nice opportunity for Miami.

While Portland's playing really well, the last two weeks are not a proper sample size for the full year.

So, I'll fade this Blazers team while they're high. Now's the time to go the other way.

We're already getting some sharp signals within the market that this should be closer to 1.5 or even just a pick'em.

This is a no-brainer Heat spot for me.
