Kings vs Pelicans NBA Preview

The Kings have been moving toward playing more of their younger guys, and they have actually turned into a kind of fun young squad.

If we knew for certain they were fully committing to that direction, they would be a team to look at betting more often.

Against the Pelicans, though, there are a lot of unknowns on both sides in terms of rotations and who is really pushing minutes.

DeMar DeRozan is one of the veterans who has lost significant playing time in several games.

If you scroll through his minutes log, it’s all over the place — you see some games all the way down in the 20-minute range. Even when he got closer to 30 minutes last game, he still finished well under his Points + Rebounds + Assists prop.

He had a very poor shooting night, going 2-for-12 from two, which you don’t usually see from him, but the bigger point is the opportunity risk.

Kings vs Pelicans Predictions, Betting Analysis

Sacramento simply isn’t centering everything around the older guys the way they used to.

The Kings have started giving more run to younger pieces like Nique Clifford, Dylan Cardwell and Devin Carter — and that shift makes it easier for them to move away from DeRozan as a focal point.

There are multiple paths to DeRozan staying under his PRA line here. It could be another limited minutes game, a poor shooting night, or a game script where the younger players get extended run.

Pick: DeMar DeRozan Under 23.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists (-110)
