I was going to start this breakdown by writing about why Georgetown's Patrick Ewing is the worst coach in the entire country, but that would've been a waste of space because everyone already knows that.

Instead, I want to start off by giving the team from Omaha its flowers. This Creighton Bluejays team is the real deal. Their entire body of work screams that a deep run in March is coming. In fact, I would go grab the 40-1 to win it all on FanDuel right now because this number is going to continue to collapse.

As we enter this Wednesday evening tilt, Creighton is coming off an impressive home victory over Xavier, whereas Georgetown blew another first-half lead and lost a tough one at St. John's.

Is this too many points to lay with the Bluejays? Or will Georgetown's underrated roster overcome its incompetent coach? Let's see if we can make a case for either.

Creighton Bluejays

I can't stress enough that this might be the most underrated team in the entire country.

The Bluejays enter as the 11th-best team in the country, per KenPom. They're 17th in adjusted offensive efficiency, 21st in adjusted defensive efficiency and sit in the top third of the country in free-throw shooting percentage.

What I love even more about this squad is that every starter is averaging double digits in scoring. Big man Ryan Kalkbrenner leads the team in scoring, followed by electric South Dakota State transfer Baylor Scheierman.

If Scheierman wasn't enough, this backcourt is extremely deep thanks to contributions from Ryan Nembhard and Trey Alexander. As much as I joke about Georgetown, it does pose somewhat of a threat with its talent.

If this was any other team in the Big East, I think we could be diving in the dumpster to back the Hoyas here. However, I expect the Bluejays to stay hot here at home, especially with Georgetown ranking 264th in adjusted defensive efficiency.

It's also worth noting that Greg McDermott alone gives the Jays the edge here.

Georgetown Hoyas

Raise your hand if you've backed this disappointing Hoyas team at any point this season. Sigh. Well, I have backed Georgetown a couple of times this season, and it's because I do like some of their pieces on the roster.

Primo Spears would be the talk of the country as one of the best guards if he had any other uniform on. Backcourt mate Brandon Murray has had to carry the load at times this season, but they both make for a really solid pair.

The problem here for Georgetown is everything else. I said I wasn't going to bash Patrick Ewing the entire article, but I can't help but mention his name again. He's a key piece of this handicap. If any other coach in the country had the makeup of this Hoyas roster, they would easily have 4-5 more conference wins — much better than their current 1-10 record in Big East play.

Georgetown's underlying metrics aren't any better. It ranks 218th nationally, per KenPom, and sits just 230th in free-throw percentage. This has been a big concern for the Hoyas, as there have been multiple games this season where they've lost simply because of their poor performance at the charity stripe.

On the inside, Qudus Wahab has shown flashes of being a dominant big man, but I think he will have his hands full with Kalkbrenner in this matchup. If Wahab gets into foul trouble early, this could get ugly very quickly.

Creighton vs Georgetown Betting Pick

Although Creighton is coming off an impressive performance at home, I still think we can squeeze some value out of this line thanks to the Hoyas' close loss against the Johnnies.

I'll keep gushing over this Creighton team, and I really think the market hasn't truly adjusted to how good they are.

We're going to be laying a big number, but given the opponent and matchups at play, I'm more than comfortable laying it with the Bluejays here.

Pick: Creighton -13.5 (Play to -15.5)
