The NCAA women's basketball is set to tip off on Wednesday, March 16 with the First Four games. The tournament officially gets going on Friday, March 18.

South Carolina is the clear favorite to win the national championship this season, as it has spent much of the season ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press Poll.

Circa posted a line for South Carolina vs. the field, with the Gamecocks at+170 to win the title and the field at -215 odds.

There are some intriguing teams in the field. Star sophomore UConn guard Paige Bueckers recently returned from an injury that had sidelined her for much of the season. The Huskies have the third-highest odds at +450 on PointsBet.

Stanford is a traditional power and ranked No. 2 in the country. The Cardinal has the second-highest odds (+425) to win it all.

Check out below more about the top-16 teams on the odds board.

1. South Carolina (+200)

The far-and-away best team in the country is led by All-American Aaliyah Boston. She's averaging 16.8 points and 11.9 rebounds per game. The Gamecocks were the heavy favorite to win the SEC before being shocked by a game-winning buzzer-beater vs. Kentucky in the SEC Championship game. It shows that this team can be vulnerable.

2. Stanford (+425)

The Cardinal lost three games early in the season in non-conference play, all against ranked teams, including South Carolina. Stanford is the hottest team in the country and playing its best basketball of the season. They have not lost a game since that Dec. 21 matchup vs. South Carolina.

3. UConn (+450)

As mentioned earlier, UConn got a massive boost with the return of Bueckers. She was one of the best players in college basketball last season. The Huskies have been solid, with a 22-5 record, but Bueckers makes them a contender. UConn cruised through the Big East Tournament and look primed for a big run in March.

4. NC State (+750)

The Wolfpack are 27-3 and find themselves atop the ACC with a 17-1 conference record. NC State earned the No. 1 seed in the Bridgeport Region but got a difficult draw with UConn as the No. 2 seed in the same region.

5. Louisville (+1400)

Louisville was expected to make a run at NC State in the ACC Conference Tournament before an early upset to the No. 7 seed Miami. The Cardinals' 25-4 was still good enough to earn the No. 1 seed in the Wichita Region.

6. Michigan (+1400)

Michigan suffered an early upset to Nebraska in the Big Ten quarterfinals. On paper, this doesn't appear to be the best team in the Big Ten, that would likely go to Iowa or Ohio State. But they do have the highest odds from the conference.

7. Baylor (+2200)

Baylor has been a women's basketball power for almost a decade, but had to replace their head coach Kim Mulkey and a lot of production from last season's Elite Eight team. The Bears accomplished their 13th consecutive Big 12 regular-season title but failed to win the conference tournament after losing to Texas in the championship game.

8. Maryland (+3000)

Maryland took some setbacks throughout the season, as it currently has a 21-8 record. However, seven of those eight losses were against ranked schools, including South Carolina, Baylor, Michigan and Stanford.

9. Tennessee (+3000)

Tennessee is almost always in the mix when it comes to women's basketball, although the program hasn't been able to reach the heights it was at under head coach Pat Summit. The Lady Vols are 22-7 overall and 11-5 in the SEC.

10. Arizona (+3300)

While the men's team is undergoing a resurgence, the women have been one of the best teams in the Pac-12 this season. The Wildcats were undefeated through non-conference play with a win over Louisville, but have struggled a bit as of late, which included an early Pac-12 tournament loss to Colorado.

11. Indiana (+4000)

Indiana is 22-8 on the season and seven of its eight losses have come against ranked teams. The Hoosiers lost by three to Stanford and by eight to NC State. They made a run to the Big Ten Championship Game before losing 74-67 to Iowa.

12. Texas (+4000)

Texas gave Baylor all they could handle and more in the Big 12 Championship. The gap between them and Baylor isn't as big as the odds make it seem.

13. Oregon (+4000)

The Ducks got off to a slow start through non-conference play, going just 7-5. However, they played much better basketball in Pac-12 play and should be considered a darkhorse in the NCAA Tournament.

14. Iowa State (+4000)

All of the Cyclones' Big 12 losses came against either Baylor or Texas including an overtime loss to Texas in the Big 12 Conference Tournament. Iowa State earned the No. 3 seed in the Greensboro Region which could include an in-state matchup with Iowa in the Sweet 16.

15. North Carolina (+5000)

The Tar Heels got off to a hot start and then stumbled a little bit in conference play. They are 23-6 over and 13-5 in the ACC.

16. Iowa (+6000)

If you haven't heard about Caitlin Clark by now, you might live under a rock. Clark is the best shooter in women's college basketball, and possibly men and women combined. She's currently averaging 27.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game. Iowa will go as she goes.

17. Kentucky (+20000)

If you're looking for some value, Iowa and Kentucky appear to have the most value heading into the tournament. Kentucky was 200/1 before knocking off South Carolina and winning the SEC Conference Tournament. In a volume market, that would have been enough to move them off 200/1.
