The 2024 Women's Elite Eight is upon us as we get closer and closer to determining the winner of this year's women's NCAA Tournament, and Sunday is capped by a matchup between the No. 3 NC State Wolfpack and the No. 1 Texas Longhorns.

NC State vs Texas tips of at 3 p.m. ET on ABC, and as of Sunday morning, Texas is a 5.5-point or 6-point favorite over NC State, depending on the book.

Will the Longhorns roll into the Final Four in Cleveland? Let's get to my NC State vs Texas preview as we break down the latest odds and make our NC State vs Texas picks for the best bet in this Women's Elite Eight game on Sunday.

NC State Wolfpack

After trailing Stanford by 10 points at halftime in Portland, the Wolfpack came out of the break scorching hot.

Aziaha James went 5-for-6 in the third quarter alone on her way to 29 points, as the Wolfpack outscored the Cardinal 28-10 in the thirrd and won the game 77-67. Cameron Brink could not stay out of foul trouble, which has hurt Stanford all postseason, and was fouled out early in the fourth.

Texas Longhorns

Gonzaga was a lot of people’s trendy upset pick from this region, with the Zags boasting ing the third best offensive rating in the country, playing on the West Coast and having three seniors in their starting lineup.

They don’t call Texas head coach Vic Schaefer the "Secretary of Defense" for nothing, though.

The Longhorns were dominant from the tip, holding Gonzaga, a team that hasn’t been held to under 65 all season, to a season-low 47 points. The 10th best 3-point shooting team in the country that averaged over nine made 3s per game was 4-for-22 from behind the arc and shot a season worst 26.5% overall. Texas rolled to their 3rd Elite Eight in four seasons under Schaefer.

NC State vs Texas

Betting Pick & Prediction

Both teams are absolutely peaking at the right time. Texas lost their best player in PG Rori Harmon to an ACL injury and has found a way to transform freshman sensation Madison Booker into a point-forward, and her size at the position has proven to be a clear advantage for the Horns.

NC State had the clear advantage in the guard position over the past three opponents, but against this Texas defense that is unlike anything they’ve faced all year, it’s going to be tough sledding for the Wolfpack.

I have the Horns winning by 7, but I wouldn't play it higher than that. If Texas gets off to a hot start, I would look to grab NC State live with a double-digit spread, but back the Horns to get to their first Final Four under Vic Schaefer by 6.

If you tailed me on NC State to get to the Final Four at +600, I also have no problem with you hedging here to ensure even money.

Pick: Texas -5.5 (Bet to -6.5) | 1 unit
