Ravens vs. Bills
By Brit Devine
Zay Flowers has ascended to one of the top WRs in the league under new head coach Jesse Minter and is being used as the focal point in the Ravens' passing game.
The matchup against the Bills today couldn't get much better. Flowers has played 57% of his snaps from the slot this season, an area of the field Buffalo has been subpar against defensively.
Flowers also does extremely well against Buffalo's two main types of coverages — Cover 3 and Cover 4 — which make up 60% of the coverages that Buffalo has run.
Flowers went off for 143 yards against Buffalo last season in their only meeting and has receiving yardage totals of 150, 84, and 118 in the games he has played with Lamar Jackson this season.
While 80 yards is a big number in today's NFL, Flowers could breeze past this by halftime in a game that looks like a shootout waiting to happen.
Pick: Zay Flowers Over 81.5 Receiving Yards (-114)Â
Vikings vs. Lions
By Brit Devine
The Lions have played six games this season, and all but one opposing starting TE has gone over this number against them. The only player to go under was Darren Waller (36 yards).
The Lions have allowed a league-high 602 yards to TEs this season, which is almost 100 yards more than the next team despite only playing six games. They also have allowed the most targets and receptions to the position.
Even with Kyler Murray underwhelming at quarterback, T.J. Hockenson should be able to get there this week as the Vikings should have a slightly pass-happier game plan than usual with the Lions being able to push the score and force the Vikings to keep pace.
Pick: T.J. Hockenson Over 38.5 Receiving Yards (-114)Â
Raiders vs. Jets
By Chris Prince
With the skidding Raiders coming to town, I love this spot for Geno Smith and the Jets, and this number simply feels too low.
This game features a solid total of 45.5 points with a close 1.5-point spread, and the weather looks nice as well, with temperatures in the 60s and minimal wind.
Smith has averaged 269.5 passing yards per game over his last two games and has gone over this number in four of his last six games.
Smith has a strong supporting cast, with Garrett Wilson, the emerging rookie Omar Cooper Jr., Adonai Mitchell, two young tight ends (Mason Taylor and Kenyon Sadiq), and the possible return of pass-catching running back Breece Hall.
The Raiders have been vulnerable through the air, allowing 245.1 passing yards per game this season. I'm expecting the Raiders to find their own success offensively, which should keep Smith throwing throughout this game.
And, of course, we have to mention the revenge narrative here with Smith going against his former team.
Pick: Geno Smith Over 219.5 Passing Yards (-112)Â
Falcons vs. Buccaneers
By Brit Devine
Bucky Irving has taken over the Buccaneers backfield in recent weeks and looks poised for another big game.
Kenneth Gainwell on the injury report for Tampa with a hip injury. He's questionable to play in this game, and the fact that he's hampered helps this play.
Irving has logged 15+ carries in six straight games, with 19+ carries in three straight games. He is also near the top of the list in many categories that are typically indicative of good running back play.
Of RBs with at least 50 attempts, he ranks 10th in yards per carry, ninth in rushing yards per game (79.7), 13th in success rate, and he has the eighth-lowest stuffed-at-the-line rate and the eighth-most missed tackles forced.
Irving has been one of the best backs in the NFL this year and has one of the better run-blocking offensive lines to help his cause.
The Falcons have been decent against the run on paper, but that is aided by a pair of cupcake matchups against the Saints and Packers.
Over the past three weeks, the Falcons have given up the sixth-most rushing yards per game, seventh-most yards per carry, and third-most yards before contact on run plays, which shows they can be pushed around in the trenches.
Pick: Bucky Irving Over 68.5 Rushing Yards (-114)Â
Colts vs. Jaguars
This line is a little high for Lawrence considering the Jaguars are double-digit favorites against a Colts squad looking to sell.
The Jags have shown that they're happy to just run the ball over and over again when they get a hefty lead. Lawrence has hit the over at this number in every close game the Jaguars have had except the games against the Broncos and the Bengals, in which they had a solid lead nearly the entire game.
I don't expect Lawrence to have the passing volume to go over in this one, and I have him projected for 20 yards under this number.
Pick: Trevor Lawrence Under 240.5 Passing Yards (-111)Â
Chiefs vs. Broncos
By Brit Devine
Even with Rashee Rice returning for this rivalry game, Travis Kelce has a long history of good games against the Broncos, and it makes sense for him to do it again here.
Kelce has recorded 58+ receiving yards in five of his last six games against the Broncos, with his lone miss coming when Chris Oladokun was playing QB for the Chiefs on Christmas following Patrick Mahomes' season-ending injury.
The Broncos have a long history of elite outside cornerback play, which forces opposing teams to use their tight end more often.
Denver has allowed the fifth-most yards and fourth-most targets to tight ends this season. Last season, it has allowed the ninth-most yards and sixth-most targets.
Everything lines up for an over for Kelce.
Pick: Travis Kelce Over 46.5 Receiving Yards (-114)Â
Patriots vs. Dolphins
By Brit Devine
With a change in how the Dolphins are playing on offense in recent weeks, this line looks far too low.
The Dolphins have been playing with more pace, moving from one of the slowest offenses in the NFL to start the season to at least league average — if not slightly higher — over the past two games.
This has given some life to the Miami offense and, in turn, created more play volume.
More plays equals more opportunity for called run plays and scrambles from one of the premier running threats at the QB position in the league.
In this new-look offense, Malik Willis has gone over this number in three of his last four games (with totals of 37, 74, and 56 yards) and in each of his last two games, allowing plenty of room for him to best this number.
