Joffe’s World Cup Challenge, Day 8: Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi

Three games, three goals, one push, and two losses. A pretty lackluster day for #JOFFIFA. At least my losses were only monetary. Portugal's Pepe might not be able to get up tomorrow morning after the hit he took against Morocco…

Denmark vs. Australia
8 a.m. ET, FS1
I didn't think Denmark was that impressive in their last game and the Aussie's need a win here. Plus, my cousins are from Melbourne and I thought the city was delightful.

France vs. Peru
11 a.m. ET, FOX
France has certainly got the talent to win this game, but they looked like spoiled escargot against the Socceroos, and I'm not confident that Peru can pull the upset. Long story short, I'm staying away from the moneyline. In discussing this game with my more knowledgeable Action Network coworkers (is that cheating? feels like cheating), there was a consensus that Peru likes to "bomb forward." I don't know much, but you obviously can't bomb forward without scoring a boatload of goals.

Argentina vs. Croatia
2 p.m. ET, FOX
Argentina and the GOAT Messi couldn't pull a win over Iceland, a country with 350,000 people, so my confidence in the boys from Buenos Aires ain't too high. Still, I'm banking on Messi to right the ship, and for Argentina to bounce back. Full disclosure: what I think and what transpires on the field don't often go hand in hand.
The pick: $10 to win $11.00 on Argentina ML (+110)
