After losing in the second round at the French Open, Jannik Sinner begins his bid for a fifth Grand Slam title on Monday (approx. 8:30 a.m. ET) against Miomir Kecmanovic.
As expected, Sinner is a heavy favorite for this match, but the same could've been said before his shocking loss in Paris to Juan Manuel Cerundolo.

Sinner vs Kecmanovic Preview, Prediction
by Tudor Cosma
Jannik Sinner Betting Preview
Sinner is a 24-year-old Italian who's ranked No. 1 on tour.
He remains the best player in the world, dominating the world rankings. However, even so, there are many question marks about him because he's coming off one of the biggest disappointments of his career.
The failure in the second round at Roland Garros against Cerundolo was called a huge surprise, but it came in special context.
Sinner was leading 6-3, 6-2, 5-1 when something happened to his body. Sinner could no longer move; he had a very violent physical blockage, and from that score he only won two more games.
There was a lot of speculation. The blame was placed on the heat, on sunstroke and on his poor nutrition. It's not known exactly what happened, and Sinner has been visiting hospitals for the past month trying to figure out what's wrong with him.
It's known that he doesn't withstand long matches well when playing in the heat, but after the loss to Cerundolo, he stated that this wasn't the cause.
Whatever happened, now there are huge question marks about him. Luckily there's a heat rule at Wimbledon, so the matches will be interrupted if it's too hot and the roof will be pulled down. This helped him last year and will help him again if he has problems.
Except for this unfortunate episode at Roland Garros, Sinner's season has been simply fabulous. He's won five consecutive Masters tournaments, becoming the first in history to achieve this. He's the first to win all Masters tournaments on clay in a season (after Rafael Nadal), and the youngest athlete of all time to have all nine trophies on his record.
Unfortunately, he has zero grand slams this year, because he also suffered at the Australian Open (defeated in the semifinals by Novak Djokovic).
Last season, he recorded two major trophies. The new season isn't yet prolific from this point of view, but, taking into account all the records he has broken, it can be considered an excellent year.
Obviously, Sinner wants at least one Grand Slam. He didn't play any official matches on grass this year, but he played a exhibition match, easily passing Cameron Norrie in straight sets. He stated that he feels good physically, but it remains to be seen how he'll look in official matches.
Miomir Kecmanovic Betting Preview
Kecmanovic is a 26-year-old Serbian who's ranked 51st in the ATP rankings.
He's a very talented athlete who I think could've had a much more interesting career. There's still time, because he's not old. However, the signals aren't positive.
Although he's talented, capable of defeating higher-ranked players, Kecmanovic has a ceiling that he doesn't seem capable of exceeding. He almost reached the top 25 on the ATP Tour (up to 27th), but it's very difficult for him to reach any higher.
His tennis is spectacular at times. He has a good serve, but on return, he's quite limited. He doesn't impress from the baseline either, even though he's not awful in that area.
Last season was average, with a title in Delray Beach and quarterfinal appearances in Winston Salem and Athens.
During this new season, he hasn't impressed. He reached the semis in Acapulco and posted a smaller title, on clay, at the Valencia Challenger.
On grass, he's played two tournaments. In both, he lost to Fabian Marozsan in three sets. He has two victories, but those were very difficult ones against Antoine Ghibaudo and Lorenzo Sonego.
So, naturally, he doesn't have much of a chance on Monday.
Sinner vs Kecmanovic Predictions, Betting Analysis
Sinner is coming off a big shock and disappointment — that second round elimination at Roland Garros — after immense physical problems.
There are many question marks about him, but Sinner seems healthy and motivated.
In his first grass match of the year, a demonstrative one, he easily beat Norrie, 2-0.
Kecmanovic hasn't played well at all on grass in these last two weeks. He lost twice to Marozsan, served quite poorly, and on the return, he caused few problems. It'll be very difficult for him to break Sinner.
I therefore believe that Sinner will prevail 3-0 in sets.
Pick: Jannik Sinner to Win 3-0
