Another day, another massive upset on the women’s side at Wimbledon.
Only 24 hours after No. 1 ranked Iga Swiatek was eliminated in a stunning upset by Yulia Putintseva, No. 2 ranked Coco Gauff suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of No. 19 Emma Navarro, who won 6-4, 6-3 in straight sets.
Gauff’s exit makes a wide-open field even wider as only two of the top-10 seeded women remain. They include No. 4 Elena Rybanka — the 2022 Wimbledon champion who’s the current favorite to win again at +140 — and No. 7 Jasmine Paolini, who faces Navarro in the next round. Oddsmakers don’t like Navarro’s chances to pull off another upset as she’s +145 to win while Paolini is -185.
Meanwhile, chalk continues to reign on the men's side as all four higher seeds won Sunday, including No. 1 Jannik Sinner and No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz.
