Braves vs Mariners MLB Betting Preview
The Braves (25-11) have the best record in baseball right now. They dropped the first game of this series 5-4, but have still won 15 of their last 19 games. Even without Ronald Acuna Jr., the offense has been terrific, led by Matt Olson, Drake Baldwin and Ozzie Albies.
Their pitching has been a pleasant surprise as well. None more shocking than Bryce Elder, who comes into this game with a 1.88 ERA. While he's been lucky on balls in play (.252) and the 85 Stuff+ is well below average, he's still got a 2.98 xERA, so it's not all smoke and mirrors.
While regression is likely to come at some point, Elder is in a nice rhythm right now, allowing one earned run or fewer in four of seven starts.
In a pitcher-friendly environment like T-Mobile Park, we could see another quality start from Elder here.
The Mariners (17-19) snapped a three-game losing streak with a much-needed win over the Braves to open up this series. Their offense is slowly waking up after tough starts from Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez.
Seattle is going with George Kirby, who has allowed two earned runs or fewer in four consecutive starts. The underlying metrics look good as well, as highlighted by a 2.84 xERA.
With that said, it's fair to wonder if the Braves' red-hot bats can get to Kirby here, as he's allowing a 40.5% hard-hit rate, which ranks in the 43rd percentile.

Braves vs Mariners Pick, Betting Analysis
We're getting too much value to pass up on the Braves to even up the series here. This team has the best record in baseball, while the Mariners are two games below .500.
I know that Kirby is better than Elder, but what we're seeing from Elder so far makes him worth backing at +120 odds at the time of this article. He's been a quality start machine so far this year.
On top of that, the Braves are currently 1st in MLB with a 124 wRC+. This offense can pose a problem for any pitcher, especially one who is below average in hard-hit rate, like Kirby.
