Cardinals vs Twins MLB Betting Preview, Pick
This is just another spot today where I'm looking to fade a good pitcher. The market has overreacted a bit, and the value is heavily pointing toward the under.
The Bat X projection system doesn't think Joe Ryan is quite as good as he has been performing lately, and it really isn't big on his underlying stuff right now. At the same time, the system thinks this Cardinals team is actually kind of interesting. They are simply not as bad an offense as everyone originally thought they would be, especially compared to expectations coming into the year.
When you break down the actual math on this prop, the edge becomes incredibly clear. The Bat X is projecting Ryan for just 16.9 outs in this matchup. That projection yields about a 51% chance that he stays under 17.5 outs.
If the books are going to give us huge plus money—or even just reasonable plus money on a coin-flip proposition—I will flip that coin and take the plus money every single time.
Pick: Joe Ryan Under 17.5 Outs (+113 or Better)
