Cincinnati Reds Betting Preview: TJ Friedl Home Run Edge
I used my Dinger Tuesday home run promo on Reds outfielder TJ Friedl, boosted from +800 to +1200.
Friedl is the best bet to homer in the White Sox vs. Reds game today using PRO Projections. Stacking up our forecast (0.17 homers) to market odds, we’re securing an edge near 5%.
Friedl is the Reds' primary leadoff hitter, so he’s usually good for five at-bats. Great American Ball Park is also the No. 1 homer park environment in the majors, and today’s total is hovering near 10 runs.
White Sox Sox starter Jonathan Cannon doesn’t generate a ton of whiffs or chases. Friedl, meanwhile, ranks high in squaring up pitches, and he has a short porch in right field to capitalize on.
Admittedly, Friedl is usually undervalued away from home, where we can get better prices. Nine of his 13 dingers last year were on the road, and all three this year have been hit as a visitor.
