MLB Home Run Picks for August 23

Vinnie Pasquantino (+400)
at Tigers (SP: RHP Chris Paddack)

Vinnie has hit a bomb five days in a row.
Tigers starter Chris Paddack is an absolute gas can for lefty power, having given up a massive 1.85 HR/9.
I'm not overthinking this one.

Pete Alonso (+350)
at Braves (SP: RHP Cal Quantrill)

I'm backing the power righties for the Mets in a good spot.
Braves starter Cal Quantrill has been absolutely crushed by righty power this season, posting a massive 2.05 HR/9. The weather isn't great for hitting, but the matchup and the odds more than make up for it.
I have the true odds on Alonso under +300.

Pete Crow-Armstrong
at Angels (SP: RHP Victor Mederos)

I'm going hard on the Cubs lefties, as the spot is far too good. We don't have a huge sample size of Victor Mederos in the majors, but he is an incredible matchup for lefty power.
Mederos grades out as one of the highest-split pitchers in the league, as he almost entirely throws a sinker and a slider, neither of which is good to get out lefties.
Pete Crow-Armstrong has been in rough form recently, but he hit a bomb last night, and the matchup is excellent.
I have the true odds for PCA around +325.

Shea Langeliers(+420)
at Mariners (SP: RHP George Kirby)

Shea Langeliers is on an absolute tear this month, hitting 10 homers thus far.
He gets a matchup against George Kirby, who is a slightly below-average matchup for righty power in his career, giving up 1 HR/9.
The odds are just far too high for a batter as hot as Langeliers right now. I have the true odds for him around +325.
