The Baltimore Orioles hand the ball to right-hander Chris Bassitt, who should serve as a good fade candidate. In 16 appearances on the mound this year, Bassitt possesses a 4.97 ERA and 1.58 WHIP.
He particularly struggles in the strikeout department, ranking in the bottom quarter of the league in chase rate, whiff rate and strikeout rate. Subsequently, Bassitt has recorded five or fewer strikeouts in seven of his past eight starts.
The right-hander has also struggled to generate swings-and-misses against the Boston Red Sox, recording three or fewer strikeouts in three of the past four meetings.

Hunter Goodman is producing yet another fantastic campaign for the Colorado Rockies. He brings 36 home runs and a .533 slugging percentage into this contest.
His analytics suggest that these power numbers are unlikely to slow down. This season, Goodman ranks in the 81st percentile in xSLG, 74th percentile in average exit velocity, 98th percentile in barrel rate and 79th percentile in hard-hit rate.
He's also had success against left-hander Matthew Liberatore, who gets the ball for the St. Louis Cardinals. Goodman is 2-for-5 in his career against Liberatore, with one of those two hits being a home run.
Another home run could be in store on Saturday, given that this game is taking place at elevation in Denver.

Left-hander Jeffrey Springs takes the mound for the Athletics, and he should serve as a good fade candidate. Through 25 starts this year, Springs is 3-13 with a 6.37 ERA and 1.50 WHIP.
His underlying metrics are equally poor. Entering this matchup, Springs ranks in the bottom third of the league in xERA, xBA, strikeout rate and barrel rate.
If anyone on the Seattle Mariners is to take advantage of this matchup, it is likely to be Julio Rodriguez. His analytics are far better than his surface-level stats, considering that he boasts a .265 xBA, .447 xSLG and .338 xwOBA.
In 17 plate appearances against Springs, Rodriguez possesses a .588 slugging percentage and .581 xSLG.
