The Detroit Tigers look to snatch a series victory over the Chicago White Sox by taking game three of their four-game set on Saturday afternoon. Much to everyone's surprise the Tigers are … hot?

The Tigers are 7-3 over their past 10 games and the Chicago White Sox continue to make everyone look like ding dongs the second they seem like their getting things back together.

The White Sox are not getting it back together and you are not a ding dong! They should be good! They have so many players on the team who you've heard of! That's supposed to be good!

The White Sox will send Johnny Cueto to the mound to help get them back in the series. The Tigers will counter with Garrett Hill, who is not Reed Garrett, the Tigers' former 2019 Rule-5 selection.

Detroit Tigers: Can Hill Build Off Strong Debut?

Although the Detroit Tigers have been in an offensive malaise most of the season, they have scored four or more runs in seven of their past eight games. Over the past two weeks, the Tigers have a team wRC+ of 105 and that does not include their production from Friday night.

Riley Greene has clearly been the spark the Tigers' offense needed as they've posted a 118 wRC+ since his call up, which is seventh best in MLB.

Garrett Hill takes the … hill in his second career start. He threw six innings of one-run ball against the Cleveland Guardians in his MLB debut. It's hard to know what to expect from him since he doesn't have the pedigree and hype as other rookies. However, he certainly earned another shot.

If Hill runs into trouble, he'll be backed by one of the best bullpens in MLB. Although they slumped a little in June, they have gotten back on track recently.

Chicago White Sox: Will Cueto's Home Struggles Continue?

The Chicago White Sox are only 5-5 over their past 10 games, but a loss on Saturday will bring the Tigers within four games of third place in the AL Central. This was unthinkable about a month ago.

The Sox's offense is still hitting well at home as they have posted a 108 wRC+ at home against right handers over the past couple of weeks. They may be at a disadvantage against an unfamiliar pitcher, but they're supposed to be good!

Johnny Cueto will get the start and his home numbers look pretty rough so far this season. He's posted a 4.97 ERA and a 5.03 FIP over 29 innings at Guaranteed Rate Field this season. The only thing that seems guaranteed in a Cueto home start right now is the opposition putting up at around 2.5 to 3 runs against him.

The Sox's bullpen has seemed to have straightened things out a bit, but with the White Sox's luck this season and La Russa behind the wheel, who knows what will happen?

Tigers-White Sox Pick

Presently the 8.5 total mark is sitting at -105. Although Garrett Hill is somewhat of an unknown commodity, the Tigers are actually hot at the moment and the White Sox can still mash.

Between Johnny Cueto, the warm weather and the White Sox's potential to also put up big offensive totals, the over seems attainable and should be played at -120 or better. I mean take it at 9 if it's in plus money if you're okay with leaving room for a push.

Pick: Over 8.5 -105
