Blue Jays vs Royals Pick, Betting Analysis
by Collin Whitchurch
This is the top edge based on our MLB projections right now, showing a strong 6.7% edge on this play.
It’s kind of a scary one given the pitchers that are on the mound. We're going to Blue Jays vs. Royals tonight in Kansas City with Jameson Taillon against Daniel Lynch IV. I think the chance for weather here in Kansas City tonight is inflating this total a little bit more than it probably should. We're getting 7-mph winds blowing out to the left and 92-degree temperatures.
Obviously, it's very warm and very ripe for offense. With Taillon and Lynch on the mound, we're seeing a total of 10 tonight. You rarely get these double-digit totals outside of Coors, Wrigley on a windy day, or maybe Sacramento nowadays.
Because of that, I think we're just inflating it a little bit. Daniel Lynch can provide some solid innings for Kansas City. Taillon is obviously kind of a dumpster fire at this point and coming off the IL, but Toronto should have their bullpen at the ready behind him. They are coming off a couple of really nice wins over the Guardians to keep themselves right in the wild-card race.
Right now, there is a 9.5 out there at plus money, but every other book is sitting at 10. I wouldn't be surprised to see this move down to 9.5 across the board if it adjusts downward based on projections from Sean Zerillo and others. If you can get 9.5 at plus money, do it, but getting the straight Under 10 offers nice value of its own.
Our PRO line has this total set at 8.79, so hopefully, we can keep things relatively low-scoring in Kansas City tonight.
Pick: Under 10 (-114, DraftKings)
