Nationals vs Braves MLB Betting Preview

Editor's Note: This written pick is a transcription from today's episode of the Payoff Pitch Podcast.

By Derek Carty

Looking at Foster Griffin's outs under 17.5 outs today against the Braves. You can find it still at +130, and I like it down to -105.

Griffin has a 2.76 ERA, but if you look under the hood, you can see he's not that good. His SIERA is 3.74, and pretty much every projection system on FanGraphs has him with a projected ERA over 4.00 going forward.

Plus, he's a trade candidate. It's possible that the Nationals don't push him as hard as they might normally do to make sure he stays healthy and ready, with the trade deadline coming up.

So, I'm going with the under on Griffin's pitching outs.

Pick: Foster Griffin Under 17.5 Outs (+130, BetMGM)
