Nuggets vs Pacers NBA Preview

Two teams with disappointing starts this season and in need of a get-right week, both hoping a stay in Mexico helps.

The Nuggets are 4-3 this season with a net rating of just +0.7, but on their schedule lies an overtime comeback against the Pelicans at home, a 20-point loss to the Warriors, a narrow seven-point win in Phoenix against the struggling Suns, and an eight-point loss to Portland after.

They're at least coming into this game having just beaten a short-handed Raptors team, but still, Denver is slow out of the gate relative to their expectations.

Indiana's start is much more worrisome, given their injury bug carrying over from last season, but a win over the surging Grizzlies Wednesday night elevated them to 3-6 heading into this weekend, at least.

Denver's injury report is a lot simpler than Indiana's. Julian Strawther (knee) remains out for at least a few more weeks, and DeMar DeRozan (back) is listed as probable to play, as of Saturday morning.

For the Pacers, it's not as extensive as it had been earlier this week, but it's loaded just a few weeks into the season.

Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring) is still pending a reevaluation and will be out a little longer. Ben Sheppard (knee) will miss an extended period. Kelly Oubre (calf) is questionable to play after missing two straight games.

TJ McConnell (hamstring) is listed as questionable for the first time all season, and could make his season debut today. Johnny Furphy (knee) is still working his way back from a torn ACL in February, and has practiced with Indy's G League affiliate, but hasn't returned to NBA action yet.

Nuggets vs Pacers Pick, Betting Analysis

Jamal Murray had made at least three 3-pointers in five straight games before finishing 2-for-5 against the Raptors, playing only 28 minutes in a blowout win.

Otherwise, he averaged over 10 three-point attempts per game during that five-game run, and since a weird opening night, where he finished 0-for-1, he's taking 9.3 per game and hitting 4.8 per game at a 51.3% clip.

Pick: Jamal Murray 3+ Threes Made (-159)
