Clippers vs Warriors NBA Preview
The big thing here is how wildly inconsistent Draymond Green has been without Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler.
It almost feels ironic listening to Warriors' postgame comments — Steve Kerr has praised Draymond for stepping up in the absence of Curry — but the offense has often looked rough with him out there.
A lot of what Draymond does offensively works best when he’s playing next to someone with Curry’s gravity; that kind of spacing changes everything.
Without the offensive threat of Curry, the Clippers' defense isn't going to be worried about helping against Draymond.
The Warriors' offense just doesn’t create the same pressure right now, and that tends to keep the ball out of Green's hands.
He’s not setting up others as effectively, and he’s not finding easy scoring opportunities in the same way either.
Clippers vs Warriors Predictions, Betting Analysis
My play for this game is Draymond Green under 8.5 points. This line was a little juiced, so if it drops to 7.5, I’m fine with that as well.
Looking at his production without Steph this season, Draymond has gone under the line in seven of 13 games, while averaging 8.2 points in those contests.
We have seen some occasional scoring spikes from him whenever he decides to be aggressive — but in general, Green simply isn’t looking to score as much.
More recently, especially coming out of the All-Star break without Curry, Green hasn’t looked particularly sharp offensively.
So I’m going to fade Draymond’s scoring output in tonight's matchup against the Clippers, given his current role in the Warriors' offense and the way this game is shaping up.
Pick: Draymond Green Under 8.5 Points (-115)
