Heat vs Raptors NBA Preview

We just saw this same matchup unfold on Tuesday — and the Raptors dominated 121-95.

The Heat are 1.5 games behind the Hornets in the ninth spot in the Eastern Conference.

So, Miami really needs to win this game — because after tonight, the Heat go to Washington, D.C. on Friday, and then back home to face the Hawks on Sunday.

The Hawks could be locked into the 5-seed by then — but even so, Miami badly needs the bounce-back spot to be in their favor tonight in order to get away from the 10th spot.

The Raptors are in sixth place and just a half-game behind the Hawks following their loss to the Cavaliers on Wednesday night.

Nikola Jovic (ankle) and Terry Rozier (at the crib) are both out for the Heat. Norman Powell (groin) and Dru Smith (foot) are questionable. For Toronto, Chucky Hepburn (knee) is out.

Heat vs Raptors Predictions, Betting Analysis

Immanuel Quickley returned to the Raptors' lineup and scored only three points and four assists in 18 minutes of action last game, so I'll take the under on him playing significantly better this time around.

Part of it was a minutes restriction, and part of it was the blowout — but also, you have Scottie Barnes, RJ Barrett and Brandon Ingram all healthy alongside him, naturally limiting his opportunities relative to the rest of the season.

Unless Quickley is playing extremely well, you don't need to run him out there for a ton of minutes, especially if Jamal Shead gives them solid minutes, which he does more often than not, evidenced by his three points and 11 assists last game.

Action PRO is projecting 16.8 points & assists for Quickley tonight.

Pick: Immanuel Quickley Under 18.5 Points & Assists (-108, DraftKings)
