76ers vs Grizzlies NBA Tuesday Preview

The 76ers have lost three straight heading into tonight, and now they are in jeopardy of sliding back from what was a promising start to the season, which had them at 16-11 just over a week ago.

Philly sits sixth in the Eastern Conference, but still, there’s been more good than bad considering the ongoing injury circumstances this organization has had to deal with.

The Sixers are difficult to assess from a hierarchy standpoint, but there’s no denying their talent level, which puts them in a decent spot to get right tonight.

However, even with Memphis’ dealing with some injuries of its own, the Grizzlies have navigated multiple storms. While the Grizzlies are 15-17 on the season, they’re actually 9-5 over their last 14 games.

Joel Embiid (ankle, knee and everything else) is questionable to play, as usual.

Trendon Watford (knee) and Kelly Oubre Jr. (adductor) both sat out Sunday and will appear on the injury report again, but their status as of Tuesday morning remains to be determined.

Vince Williams Jr. (knee), Brandon Clarke (calf), Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (hamstring), Jon Konchar (thumb), Zach Edey (ankle), Ty Jerome (calf) and Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe) are all out. Jock Landale (calf) is questionable.

76ers vs Grizzlies Prediction, Betting Analysis

Tyrese Maxey over 27.5 is my play in this one. Embiid being questionable helps, though I’m not too concerned even if he does play.

The Grizzlies’ defense isn’t actually a top-10 unit, even if that’s where it currently ranks. With Ja Morant on the other side, and a frontcourt of Jaren Jackson Jr. and Santi Aldama needing to overcompensate for him, Maxey should be able to walk into that pull-up jumper all night.

He’s gone over 27.5 points in seven of 11 games and has cleared this number in five of seven with Embiid active, including last game, where he just fell short, finishing with 27.

Pick: Tyrese Maxey Over 27.5 Points (-110)
