Every Saturday in which college football graces our lives is a good one. But to say Week 6’s slate stacks up against Week 5’s would be an exaggeration.
We’re lighter on games and light on blockbuster matchups, but this week delivers some excellent data points about teams we’re still feeling out.
Vanderbilt looks to make it two in a row against Alabama and finally notch a win against a team we’re sure is good. Cincinnati has an opportunity to notch a resume game against Iowa State, as does Maryland against Washington.
Conference play is in full swing, and midweek action is almost upon us with a few Conference USA tilts on Thursday and Friday. Western Kentucky at Delaware might be the best gauge game outside of Florida State-Miami on the entire schedule.
Keep your heads on a swivel, friends, as this is the kind of week that spurs upsets left and right and mixes up the entire hierarchy of college football in an instant.
Let's dive into the college football odds, NCAAF lines and more for Week 6.

Impact Injuries on Week 6 Odds
Boston College vs. Pitt
Boston College was without three key starters last week: cornerback Amari Jackson, linebacker Daveon Crouch, and stud left tackle Jude Bowry. Guard Logan Taylor slid over to tackle in place of Bowry and played fine, only allowing one pressure, but getting flagged once. Pitt was without star running back Desmond Reid last week in a 34-27 loss to Louisville.
Texas vs. Florida
Florida is dealing with a rash of injuries along the defensive line and to QB DJ Lagway. Lagway is expected to play, but did suffer a lower-body injury that put him back in a boot. (Lagway was in a boot nearly the entire summer.) George Gumbs Jr. and tackle Michai Boireau both missed the LSU game. Star tackle Caleb Banks returned, but re-broke his foot and is out for the foreseeable future. Receiver Dallas Wilson has not played yet this year.
Boise State vs. Notre Dame
For another season, Notre Dame continues to be banged up. DE Jordan Bothelo and starting LT Charles Jagusah are both hurt for the majority of the year. Star CB Leonard Moore, kicker Noah Burnette, and defensive back DeVonta Smith all missed the last two games. Notre Dame plays its fourth of six consecutive Power Conference (plus Boise State) game in a row.
Miami (OH) vs. Northern Illinois
Miami starting QB Dequan Finn went down with an injury in Week 4 and did not suit up for the Redhawks’ 38-0 over FCS bottom-dweller Lindenwood. Backup Henry Hesson completed 13-of-21 passes for a pair of touchdowns. Starting DT Roosevelt Andrews III also missed the win.

Staff & Roster Impacts on Week 6
Colorado State vs. San Diego State
Colorado State benched starting QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi ahead of the Rams’ Week 5 contest with Washington State.
Redshirt freshman Jackson Brousseau stepped in but only led Colorado State to three points behind a largely mundane performance.
CSU sits at 1-3 on the season and is seeking its first FBS win.
Oklahoma State vs. Arizona
After a horrific 1-3 start that included a loss to Tulsa — and following up a 3-9 campaign — Oklahoma State fired head coach Mike Gundy. This was announced late last Monday, after last week’s cheat sheet came out.
On Sunday, the Pokes relieved defensive coordinator Todd Grantham of his duties. OK State gave up over 600 yards of offense to Baylor in Week 5, prompting the move.

Arkansas Razorbacks (on Bye)
A 56-13 loss at home to Notre Dame was the final straw for Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman, who was fired Sunday afternoon.
Rumors surrounding Pittman’s security with Arkansas have been abundant for the last couple of years, but a 2-3 start with three consecutive losses was the decider.
Offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino (yes, that Bobby Petrino) takes over as interim coach. Arkansas is on bye this week.
Weather Impacts on Week 6 Odds
Weekly college football weather reports will be released later this week as forecasts become more certain. But here are a few spots to keep tabs on early in the week.
So far, the 2025 hurricane season has been quiet, and the overall weather pattern across the United States has been stable.
Early in the week, there doesn’t appear to be many games impacted by the weather this weekend. However, keep an eye on changing forecasts.
The secondary severe weather season peaks in October, and temperatures are likely to begin dropping by mid-month.
Week 6 Situational Spots To Watch
Western Kentucky vs. Delaware
Western Kentucky plays its second consecutive opponent that it hasn’t seen before, marking a need to prep for a new team. Last week, WKU struggled at Missouri State, winning 27-22.
This is the Hilltoppers' second consecutive road game and their third road game in four weeks. Delaware comes in with a rest advantage, and WKU has just five days to travel and plan for the Blue Hens, who employ a unique offensive system.
Oregon State vs. Appalachian State
Oregon State crosses the country to play in one of the most isolated college towns in the FBS.
The Beavers last played Friday, outperforming expectations in an overtime loss to Houston. They returned a few pieces on the offensive line, and it showed.
However, this is the third road game in four weeks for Oregon State and a tricky one at that.
Texas State vs. Arkansas State
Arkansas State returns after back-to-back home games and playing three of its last four games on the road to host Sun Belt foe Texas State.
The Bobcats come in after a bye week. Arkansas State has not yet had a bye and plays its sixth straight game to open the season.
South Alabama vs. Troy
South Alabama hits the road for the third time in four weeks and plays a Troy team off a bye at home. This is one of the biggest rest discrepancies on the season for any team.
Duke vs. California
Teams traveling cross-country often fall short of expectations. Duke crosses three time zones to play at 10:30 p.m. internal time, and this is the third road game in four weeks for the Blue Devils after traveling to Syracuse and Tulane.
Cal returns home after back-to-back road games that required three cross-country trips (at San Diego State, at Boston College). Both of those opponents had rest advantages against the Golden Bears, who went 1-1.
