Minnesota Betting Stats & 2019 Season Profile

  • Season Record: 10-2
  • Against-the-Spread Record: 6-4-2
  • Conference: Big Ten
  • Offense Yards Per Play Rank: 30
  • Defense Yards Per Play Rank: 28
  • S&P+ Special Teams Rank: 93

Analysis: PJ Fleck has done an amazing job with this Minnesota program. It wasn’t a complete rebuild, but he chose to tear the roster down and start from scratch with his own players. While Fleck may irritate some, there’s no denying that this version of the Gophers is their best in many, many years. The most impressive part of 2019 Minnesota is their receiving corps. Led by future NFL players Tyler Johnson and Rashaad Bateman, Minnesota has wideouts rivaled by only LSU, Alabama, Clemson, and USC. The passing game is efficient and highly explosive so keep that in mind when capping their bowl game. While they didn’t reach the Big Ten title game, I expect Fleck to have his guys ready to play in what will be their biggest bowl game in years. –Kyle Miller

Auburn Betting Stats & 2019 Season Profile

  • Season Record: 9-3
  • Against-the-Spread Record: 9-3
  • Conference: SEC
  • Offense Yards Per Play Rank: 80
  • Defense Yards Per Play Rank: 11
  • S&P+ Special Teams Rank: 30

Analysis: Gus Malzahn loves being the Auburn coach. After a blitz of Purdue in last seasons Music City Bowl, Malzahn made it clear that 2019 would be the year he took the offense back and made all the decisions. The results were fabulous against one of the toughest schedules in the nation. The decision to play Bo Nix as a true freshman in the season opener paid dividends for the Tigers in a season finale win of the Iron Bowl. Keep an eye on defensive tackle Derrick Brown, a projected top 10 pick in the upcoming NFL draft. His status is imperative for Auburn to maintain a top 20 defensive havoc and line yards ranking. –Collin Wilson
