Jameis Winston Saints Week 1 Starter, NFL MVP Odds Improve Following Strong Preseason Week 2 Performance

Jameis Winston's performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday night has bolstered his chance to win the starting quarterback job for the New Orleans Saints.
The former Tampa Bay Buccaneer was nearly perfect on the night, completing nine of 10 passes for 123 yard and two touchdowns.
More importantly for Winston, he protected the ball and didn't have any turnovers.
Monday night's NFL preseason Week 2 game was a marked improvement for Winston, who finished 7-12 for 96 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1.

The betting market has clearly taken note as well, evidenced by Winston's odds to take New Orleans' first regular season snap moving from -185 last week to -350 as of Tuesday morning at DraftKings Sportsbook.
With Winston appearing to have the inside track over Taysom Hill to be the Saints' Week 1 starter, oddsmakers have also seen a shift in MVP odds.
According to Christian Cipollini, a Sports Trader at BetMGM, Winston has also moved to +5000 to win the NFL MVP award after opening at +6600.
Both Saints quarterbacks could have their final chances to make an impression on head coach Sean Payton in the team's final NFL preseason matchup against the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday night.
At the time of writing, the Saints are 3-point home underdogs (click here for live NFL odds) against the Green Bay Packers in Week 1 of the regular season.
