In Atlético Madrid's three Champions League games thus far, the Spanish side has accounted for eight cards. If you go back to 2020, Atlético Madrid accounted for seven over its final two-leg tie with Chelsea.

Liverpool isn't afraid to get stuck in, either, accounting for three cards over its past three UCL contests. In the two games that were played between Liverpool and Atlético Madrid last year, each contained three cards apiece.

Coming into this fixture, though, the tensions could be lifted even higher by the actions that occurred in the reverse fixture, when manager Diego Simeone snubbed the handshake offered by Jürgen Klopp after a heated contest saw Liverpool narrowly win.

This will be a pivotal match in the group, and Atlético Madrid in particular could use a result, as it currently sits tied for second in the group with Porto. Expect an intense tie that will result in a number of cautions being issued.

Man City vs. Club Brugge

Whether Club Brugge is a favorite or underdog, the team has a knack for counterattacking and being compact, resulting in corner kicks going in its favor.

Of course, luck plays a role in corner kicks occurring, just as it does in goals being scored. However, Brugge has showed an ability to earn corner kicks at a high proportional rate to goals and possession.

In the last fixture between the teams, the Belgian side was able to amass four corners, which was the same number as its English counterpart that dominated the game. Against RB Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain, Brugge actually generated more corners than its opponents.

Manchester City will almost certainly dominate the possession of the ball in this game, it has a great chance of winning the game and it very well could steamroll Brugge. Yet, for whatever reason, Brugge is consistently able to generate attacking situations that lead to corner kicks.

At this number, it's worth taking a shot on the unique wager.

FC Sheriff vs. Inter Milan

The PickFirst Half Under 0.5 Goals (+265)

FC Sheriff Tiraspol remains one of the stories of the Champions League group stage, despite suffering a 3-1 defeat in the reverse fixture that was played against Inter Milan.

The Moldovan side is tied with Real Madrid atop the group table, and this match will be a huge one in determining the quartet's landscape.

Sheriff is also the luckiest side in the group stage thus far. It has generated just 1.6 expected goals, but has scored five goals in three games. Sheriff has also conceded 6.9 xGA, despite only giving up four goals in reality.

While Inter has conceded just 2.9 xGA through three matches, it sits at third in the table and needs three points from this fixture to ensure any type of security.

As such, I expect both teams to be tentative at the beginning of this game, as they were in their first meeting. Though Inter was able to find a 32nd-minute breakthrough in that contest, there was a very real possibility that it could've been scoreless at the break.

With a near 3-1 price, this is worth the risk.
