The quarterfinal round of the French Open kicks off on Tuesday, and it's a matchup between Leylah Fernandez and Martina Trevisan that gets things started.

In a match that could feature some long, arduous rallies between two consistent baseliners, where does the value lie in the betting markets?

Let's take a look at each woman's path to the quarter, recent form and style to figure that out.

Trevisan Feeling At Home On Clay

What a sensational two weeks for Trevisan.

Struggling for form during the earlier parts of the clay season, the Italian used the week prior to the French Open to find her rhythm, winning the lead-in tournament in Rabat.

She then swept through the first week at Roland Garros, winning all four matches leading to the quarterfinal in straight sets.

With her sensational defensive abilities, consistency and ability to create openings to hit winners, Trevisan is a tough matchup for those who don't possess both power and consistency in their games.

Into her second quarterfinal in Paris in three seasons, her game is well-suited for the red dirt.

The primary question mark for the 28-year-old is the quality of competition she has had to play up to this point. Harriet Dart is poor (at best) on clay, Magda Linette is a middle-of-the-road type player and better on hard courts, Daria Saville is another player who prefers hard courts and Aliaksandra Sasnovich is an all-or-nothing power player.

The other concern for Trevisan is that she didn't look convincing by any means in her last match. Trevisan and Sasnovich combined for over 80 unforced errors.

The match was more a battle of who lost, more than who won.

Fernandez In Tremendous Form

As for Fernandez, the Canadian has reached the second week of a Grand Slam event for the second time in her last three tries, after reaching the final of the US Open in the fall.

Her game consists of a combination of consistency, counter-punching and a bit of pace to her groundstrokes.

While not the most powerful player, Fernandez can find quick points on serve. Her first serve has decent speed, but she places it well enough that she can induce short balls that she can put away with ease.

The same goes for her groundstrokes. While she's not someone to be labeled a "pusher," she doesn't hit the cover off the ball either. Her ability to take the ball early, however, takes time away from her opponent to set up their next shot, which ultimately serves the same purpose.

Fernandez has looked strong this tournament, dispatching her first two opponents with relative ease, before taking out two well-rounded, top-30 players in three sets.

Betting Value

With all that in mind, the betting value in this match lies with the favorite.

Ultimately, with Fernandez likely to be dictating more points than not, and with her ability to stick around in longer rallies with Trevisan without committing an abundance of errors, the young Canadian profiles well as someone to halt her counterpart's win streak at nine.

Considering the players who have beaten Fernandez on red clay this season, it's likely to take someone of a higher level than Trevisan to take her down.

Laying the games in this spot is the best position to take as the quarterfinals get underway.

Pick: Fernandez -3.5 Games (-105)
