Rockies vs Braves MLB Betting Preview

This game triggered two of our Action PRO betting systems.

The first is the Series Unders Off Low-Scoring Games system:

MLB Icon
Evan Abrams / Bet Labs – Series Unders: Off Low-Scoring Games

As our own Evan Abrams writes:

The Series Unders Off Low-Scoring Games system focuses on regular-season MLB matchups where both teams are entering the second or later game of a series after producing minimal offense in their previous outing. When teams come off one- or two-game streaks of low scoring, particularly early to mid-series, the market can overcorrect or undervalue continued offensive stagnation. This model anticipates that trend to persist — betting on the under when recent results and situational rhythm point to a slow-paced, low-output environment.

The other system that this game fits is the High Strikeout Pitchers system:

PRO: High Strikeout Pitchers

betting on the Under
the visiting pitcher's strikeout rate is between 0.27 and 1
the closing total is between 8 and 100
the home pitcher's strikeout rate is between 0.23 and 1
the home team's game number is between 26 and 162

Again, from Evan:

Targeting unders in games with high strikeout starting pitchers (home: 23%+, visitor: 27%+ K rates). With fewer balls in play and more missed bats, these games trend under, especially in regular season settings with moderately priced totals (8–100). This model capitalizes on pitching dominance to limit run production.

Rockies vs Braves Pick, Betting Analysis

The Braves beat the Rockies 2-1 on Saturday afternoon, fitting the first system perfectly.

However, I wanted to touch on the High Strikeout Pitchers system.

Mason Adams has only made one start at the MLB level, but I think he’s got some pretty decent swing-and-miss stuff. He consistently ran a 25% strikeout rate at Triple-A, and he struck out five Nationals across four innings in his MLB debut.

Tyler Mahle is running his highest strikeout (23%) and CSW (27%) rates since 2023, so I’m relatively high on him compared to the market as well.

The Under is a great look for this game.

Pick: Under 8.5
