Justin Van Zuiden's Yankees vs Athletics Over/Under Prediction
I know Sutter Health Park has a great run-scoring environment and that Aaron Judge and the Yankees are dangerous with the bats, but I am shocked to see this total sitting at 10 runs.
Carlos Rodon is every bit of an elite pitcher when his command is not off, and he has a 30%+ strikeout rate so far in 2025.
Athletics starter JP Sears is not a gas can on the other side, either, and he has shown solid stuff in 2025.
I can't see this game getting off the rails for a ton of runs and will back the under on a big number.
Pick: Under 10 (-115)
Justin Van Zuiden's Cubs vs Mets Moneyline Pick
By Justin Van Zuiden
I love this spot for the Mets; I had this line pegged at closer to -180.
Tylor Megill has a sub-3.00 ERA and very strong advanced metrics that include a 29% strikeout rate. The Cubs have been in a bit of a funk this week, and I like Megill's chances of keeping that going.
Meanwhile, the Cubs are replacing Shota Imanaga in their rotation due to injury and are using Brad Keller as an opener followed by the major-league debut of Cade Horton.
It just doesn't project well against an elite offense — thus, I'll back the Mets to win this evening.
Pick: Mets Moneyline (-148)
Brit Devine's Padres vs Rockies Spread Prediction
By Brit Devine
The Rockies have lost 32 games this season; they have lost by just a single run in only three of those games.
