Brit Devine's Mets vs Pirates Best Bet: Back the Mets on a Discount
By Brit Devine
The Mets are in free fall right now, losing 12 of their last 15 games, and they could get swept by the Pirates if they lose today. They had a players-only meeting after yesterday's loss, and I'm looking to buy low on them against the Pirates.
The Mets are clearly underperforming right now, but the Pirates are still the same boring offense sitting near the bottom of the league in most every category, both on the season and over the past 30 and 14 days.
The Mets would be -180 or better here if this game had taken place three weeks ago, so we are getting a significant discount with them in a slump.
Pick: New York Mets ML (-140)
Brit Devine's Rays vs Orioles Best Bet: Good Matchup for Lowe
By Brit Devine
I'm going to attack Baltimore's starting pitching with left-handed Rays bats for the second day in a row.
Baltimore starter Dean Kremer has been getting hit hard by left-handed batters all season, allowing a .300 batting average and a .362 wOBA.
This series has seen some enormous run totals, and it looks like another run fest is on tap.
Pick: Brandon Lowe Over 1.5 Hits, Runs, & RBIs (-130)
Derek Carty's Giants vs White Sox: Fade Cannon
By Derek Carty
There is a value opportunity on Cannon's strikeouts prop. THE BAT X is projecting him to record 2.86 strikeouts, while oddsmakers are implying 3.34. The model believes there is a 69% chance he records fewer than four strikeouts, so there is value on the under at -140.

Pick: Jonathan Cannon Under 3.5 Strikeouts (-140)
Brit Devine's Nationals vs Angels Best Bet: Back Wood vs LHP
By Brit Devine
James Wood has too much going for him not to bet this at these prices. Of 170 qualified batters against right-handed pitching, Wood has the 8th highest wOBA, the 10th highest SLG%, and the 11th most HR's.
Angels starter Kochanowicz has struggled against left-handed batters mightily this season as well. Of 105 qualified pitchers, he has allowed the 8th highest ERA to them, the 9th highest batting average, and the 8th highest wOBA.
Add in one of the worst bullpens in the league, and you have A+ at-bats expected from Wood today.
Pick: James Wood Over 1.5 Hits, Runs & RBIs (-140)
Derek Carty's Twins vs Tigers: Good Value on Buxton
By Derek Carty
There is a value opportunity on Buxton's home runs prop. THE BAT X is projecting 0.21 home runs for him with an 18% chance that he hits at least one home run. If you can get the over at +575 or better, there is great value here.
