The Rockies looked like road warriors Monday  night as they came into Cleveland and took the opening game of this series with authority. They jumped on Cal Quantrill, sending him to the showers in the fourth. On the other side, Colorado's pitching staff dazzled as they shut out the Guardians while surrendering just four hits.

While the Rockies' offense broke out last night, it will be interesting to see if they can show some consistency away from Coors Field. As for the Guardians, they need to pick it up offensively if they are going to regain control of the AL Central.

Will we see the bats breakout tonight? Or are tonight's starters being undervalued?

Let's take a closer look to find out.

Colorado Rockies

It has been a common theme to fade the Colorado Rockies away from Coors Field as they are an entirely different team away from their elevated home park. However, their offense has disappointed both at home and on the road.

They are 28th in wRC+ and wOBA overall and actually have similar rankings on the road. What's peculiar is that this lineup has shown flashes as CJ Cron and Ryan McMahon have been hitting the ball well, but the issue has been consistency.

Tonight they may be without McMahon, who missed last night's game with an illness. That is a sizable blow to this lineup as they will face Peyton Battenfield, who is making the third start of his career.

Battenfield possesses an arsenal that could give the many lefties in the Rockies' order fits. He features a cutter with a BAA of .087 on the season and a 44 percent whiff rate. We may also see him throw his offspeed stuff more in this outing, as he'll need to give this lineup different looks.

Cleveland Guardians

The Rockies are not the only struggling lineup in this matchup, as the Guardians have not shown much offensive prowess despite having one of the league's lowest strikeout rates. The Guardians come into this game 26th in wRC+ and 28th in wOBA.

Those numbers are not great, and last night was an example of their struggles. Austin Gomber, who came into Monday with a 12.12 ERA, dealt against them. The Guardians had just three hits off Gomber and one off the bullpen. Steven Kwan accounted for three of those four hits.

Tonight, they'll be tasked with Ryan Feltner, who is coming off his best outing of the season. Feltner has made his slider his primary pitch, and the results are beginning to show.

He comes into this outing in the top 25 percent of all qualified pitchers in average exit velocity allowed and hard-hit rate. If he can avoid giving out free passes, Feltner should have success against a lineup that has already struggled to make quality contact.

Rockies vs. Guardians Betting Pick

Typically, pitching dictates many angles, as the lines and total are based on the quality of the starters. However, for this matchup, the struggles of both lineups are just as much a factor as the men on the mound.

The Guardians are heavy favorites tonight, as Battenfield should have success against the lefties of the Rockies order. Although, Feltner is in for some positive regression tonight as well.

Feltner has been great at limiting hard contact and will now face a lineup that has not hit the ball hard very often.

Both starters should set the tone through the first five and keep the scoring to a minimum before the bullpens take over.
