Let me preface this article with three statements:

  1. I am on vacation.
  2. I am on vacation in Las Vegas.
  3. I am on vacation in Las Vegas with my kids.

The point of qualifying my bets below with the statements above is two-fold.

First, it's fair to say that I'm betting on tonight's SRX race at Five Flags Speedway (8 p.m. ET, CBS) for "action," meaning they're not bets I'd normally make if I wasn't here.

But as they say, "when in Rome with kids, do as the Romans do and bet on as many things as you can to distract yourself from the madness."

And second, the only sportsbook/casino that I know of with SRX odds for tonight's race is Caesars, so they're easily accessible to me while I'm pretending that the two kids choke-slamming each down the Las Vegas Strip aren't my problem.

So now that I've sold you on why I'm betting SRX at Five Flags Speedway, here's where my action lies.

Bubba Pollard (+800)

Pollard earned his spot in tonight's race by finishing with the best average finish in the PepperJack Kennels Twins in April at Five Flags Speedway, so he knows this racetrack quite well.

In addition, Pollard was second fastest in today's SRX practice, so he's quickly getting up to speed on these race cars.

Give him even more laps in today's heat races, and he should be ready to roll once the green flag drops at Five Flags Speedway on Saturday night.
