Pistons vs Grizzlies NBA Preview
On Saturday night, the Pistons went to Mexico City to defeat the Mavericks 122-110 as part of the NBA's Global Games.
Jalen Duren led the way with a career-high 33 points to go along with 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.
Cade Cunningham recorded another double-double as well, with 21 points while tying a career-high with 18 assists.
The Pistons will return stateside as they head to Memphis, where there is already some drama brewing.
After a game-winning shot and a 28/8/7 performance in Phoenix, Ja Morant shot 3-for-14 from the field and 0-for-6 from three and finished with eight points in a 117-112 loss to the Lakers.
Much more notable than Friday's performance was what he said after the game.
For the comments, Morant was suspended one game by the Grizzlies for conduct detrimental to the team.
With the suspension, Morant has now missed 127 of a possible 253 games since the start of the 2022-23 season.
He served the suspension last night as the Grizzlies fell 117-104 in Toronto.
While Morant has struggled from three this season, Memphis shot just 11-for-35 (31.4%) from three last night.
As a team, they are 25th in 3-point percentage (32.7%) this season.
Jaylen Wells is down to 25.6% from deep after being one of the league's best two-way rookies last season.
The Pistons are 18th in 3-point percentage this season, but they have shot 18-for-58 (31%) from three in their two losses.
That means the long ball may go a long way in deciding who walks out a winner tonight.
This figures to be a fast-paced game as the Grizzlies are third in pace while the Pistons are 15th. The Pistons will be looking to extend their win streak to four games. However, they will first have to snap the Grizzlies' nine-game winning streak in the head-to-head.
