Pistons vs Jazz NBA Preview
The Pistons head to Salt Lake City as winners of nine of their last games and atop the Eastern Conference.
They are 2-0 on their current West Coast road trip and can secure a successful trip with a victory tonight. On Tuesday, they defeated the Kings 136-127 and nearly secured a cover in the process.
Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duren, and Tobias Harris each had at least 23 points while Cunningham and Duren each had double-doubles.
For Duren, it was his consecutive fourth game with a double-double. He also has a double-double in three of his last four games against the Jazz, including 22 points and 22 rebounds against them in November.
The Pistons won that game 114-103, a far cry from Tuesday's victory in Sacramento. However, don't be surprised if tonight's game is more like the latter. Utah is 19-10 to the over overall, the third-best mark in the league. However, at home, Utah is 13-4 to the over.
The Jazz are third in pace, but also 29th in defensive rating. They allow the third-most 3-point attempts and the most 3s per game.
It will be interesting to see if the Pistons can take advantage, as they are 27th in both 3-point attempts and 3s made per game.
In December, the Jazz have allowed 125 points in nine of 10 games. Despite that, they have still managed to win four of those games, but will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak tonight.
Pistons vs Jazz Prediction, Betting Analysis
Duren has a double-double in each of his last four games and six of his last 10 games.
Those same trends match with Duren clearing 30+ points and rebounds. In all six games, Duren has scored at least 17 points, with 26 and 23 in his last two.
He already has a 20-point game against the Jazz this season, who are the fourth-most points to centers.
They are allowing 24 points and 14 rebounds per game to centers, clearing the total Duren will need tonight, and he already has had 44 PR against them this season.
The Pistons had 60 points in the paint in the first meeting, and Duren is dominating inside, joining Ausar Thompson.
Thompson has scored 10 points in seven of his last 10 games. He has 37 points in his last two games and 35 in his previous two games against the Jazz.
Jusuf Nurkic had 17 rebounds in the first meeting and recently had another 17-rebound game against Memphis. He has pulled down at least eight rebounds in eight of his last 10 games.
Meanwhile, Keyonte George scored 19 points in the first meeting, nearly missing another 20-point performance. He has scored 20 points in eight of his last 10 games and is averaging 23.3 points at home this season.
