Clippers vs Suns NBA Preview

It's a light night in The Association with all eyes on Phoenix, where the Suns will host the Clippers in the lone game on the docket.

The Clippers dominated the first meeting, cruising to a 129-102 victory at the Intuit Dome. James Harden led the way with 30 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.

Harden is off to a great start this season, averaging 23.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 8.6 assists per game while shooting 47.1% from the field.

However, the Clippers will be without him tonight as he's out for personal reasons. They'll also be missing Kawhi Leonard, who's sidelined with a right ankle sprain.

Former Suns Bradley Beal and Chris Paul will step into more prominent roles tonight, as will Ivica Zubac and new Clipper John Collins.

The Clippers' big men share the team's highest points props at 17.5 apiece. They'll look to help the team snap a two-game skid.

The Suns lost four of their first five games to open the season but have won two of their last three entering tonight's matchup.

With Beal and Kevin Durant out of town, Devin Booker is the clear No. 1 option in Phoenix. He's averaging 31.3 points and seven assists per game while shooting 51.6% from the field and 43.1% from three.

Outside of Booker, the Suns have featured a balanced scoring attack with seven double-digit scorers.

Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neale are each averaging over three made 3-pointers per game, both shooting near or above 40% from deep.

The Suns will again be without Dillon Brooks, who will miss his sixth straight game with a groin injury.

His absence hurts a defense that currently ranks 22nd in the league.

However, Jalen Green is on track to make his team debut.

While there hasn't been an official minutes restriction announced, it's unlikely he'll play more than 25 minutes.

Clippers vs Suns Prediction, Betting Analysis

The Clippers' win in the first meeting snapped a five-game Suns winning streak in the series.

However, I like the Suns to defend their home court tonight.

They're 3-1 straight up and 4-0 against the spread at home this season, while the Clippers have lost both of their road games by 19 points or more.

Additionally, the Suns' defensive rating is nearly 17 points better at home early this season.

A solid defensive effort against a shorthanded Clippers team should lead to a win for Phoenix tonight.

Pick: Suns -3 (-110, bet365)
