Trail Blazers vs Warriors NBA Preview

The Warriors come into this matchup in good form. While they’ve mixed wins with a few losses in recent games, their home record gives Golden State a clear edge — 13-6 at the Chase Center this season.

The Curry-Butler duo is playing at its best, but their combined 61 points weren’t enough for the Warriors to secure a win on Sunday against the Hawks (124-111 loss).

This will be Golden State’s fourth straight game at home, and after their most recent setback, the expectation is that the Warriors can get back to winning ways and continue climbing the Western Conference standings.

On the other side, the Trail Blazers are direct competitors of the Warriors in the playoff race. With a 19-21 record, Portland is currently positioned for the Play-In Tournament to secure a postseason spot.

However, with the season just past its midway point, anything can still happen in the Western Conference.

Injury-wise, the Trail Blazers are the more banged-up team heading into tonight’s game. They will be without one of their key players, Deni Avdija (back), along with Jerami Grant (Achilles), Scoot Henderson (hamstring), and Matisse Thybulle (knee).

Meanwhile, the Warriors are only dealing with the absence of Seth Curry (sciatic nerve), who is expected to be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Trail Blazers vs Warriors Prediction, Betting Analysis

Holiday made his return to the lineup last game and played just 16 minutes off of the bench.

It is no surprise that Holiday will have his minutes monitored, but I would be pretty surprised if they hold him back that much going forward, as it doesn't really make sense to play him at all if he is only able to play minutes in the mid-teens.

With Deni Avdija out for this game, I am projecting Holiday to start and play 24 minutes, and Avdija being out should also lead to increased usage.

As a result, Holiday projects for 19.2 points + assists in this spot.

Pick: Jrue Holiday Over 16.5 Points & Assists (-125)
