At 4-7, not much has gone as planned for the Saints this season. One bright spot has been first-round rookie receiver Chris Olave.

Named a starter from the get-go, Olave leads the Saints in receiving yards, targets and receptions. In the seven games started by Andy Dalton, Olave has accrued a 27% receiving yard share, eclipsing this line four times.

Over that same span, Olave ranks ninth of 161 receivers with 2.52 yards per route run, per Pro Football Focus. The Saints have seemingly found the balance between high percentage throws and deeper shots with the speedy receiver.

And Dalton should be throwing plenty today. Already coming in as 9-point underdogs to the NFC West leading 49ers, San Francisco’s defense is well-equipped to limit Alvin Kamara’s production.

Per Football Outsider’s DVOA metric, the 49ers rank third in rushing defense, and first in pass defense against running backs. A negative game script should lead to passing situations for the Saints, and Olave stands to benefit most.

Coming out of last week's game in Mexico City that saw the 49ers were gashed by Cardinal receivers to the tune of 244 receiving yards, I love Olave to continue on that trend today. I have the freshman phenom projected for around 75 yards.
