I'm targeting the road underdog in this matchup for my NFL pick in Week 15. Giants vs Saints odds have New York listed as a 5.5-point underdog on the spread with a game total of 39.

Tommy DeVito mania has taken over the NFL. Between his dad, his agent and the fact that he is actually winning games, the media just can't get enough.  The Giants are riding a three-game winning streak into New Orleans for this matchup with the Saints. Meanwhile, the Saints have lost three of their last four games and find themselves in a three-way tie atop the catastrophe that is the NFC South.

Let's preview New York vs New Orleans and get into my Giants vs Saints prediction.

Giants vs. Saints Preview

The Saints have been a strange team to handicap all season.

They have a consistently above-average defense that ranks 13th in DVOA. They have only given up 30-plus points twice, but they aren't as shutdown as the elite units in the league.

Offensively, they have been consistently below average. The Saints are 19th in offensive DVOA and have only scored 30-plus points twice. Derek Carr has not lived up to preseason expectations despite having a robust set of skill players like Alvin Kamara, Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, Taysom Hill and more.

On the Raiders, Carr seemed to be doing his best but was held back by a bad team. Now in New Orleans, he seems to be the one holding back the Saints from pulling away in a horrible NFC South. Amongst qualified quarterbacks, Carr is 21st in EPA+CPOE composite — that puts him between Justin Fields and Will Levis. Carr has dealt with turnover issues and an inability to consistently string together positive drives.

The Giants have a solid pass defense that ranks 14th against opposing aerial attacks. A large part of that success has come from the pass rush, not the secondary. The Giants are 12th in pass rush win rate and are led by Dexter Lawrence, who is third amongst DTs in pass rush win rate.

The Saints are 29th in pass block win rate. That means Lawrence and company should be able to get after Carr and potentially force some turnovers.

The Giants have forced 10 turnovers during their three-game winning streak, and while some of that should be chalked up to good luck, it is also because they have gotten after quarterbacks.

Offensively, the Giants have been interesting under Tommy DeVito.

DeVito is objectively not a starting-caliber quarterback, but he is not as bad as some QBs who have started this season. In EPA+CPOE composite rankings, DeVito is ahead of Mac Jones, Bryce Young, Zach Wilson, Aidan O’Connell, Mitch Trubisky and several other quarterbacks who have started multiple games.

DeVito is not going to light anyone up, but last week we saw that Brian Daboll and his staff seemed to unlock him. He seems much more settled into in and the skill-position players around him seem to be buying into his personality and the way he leads on and off the field.

On the injury front, Darren Waller is expected to be back for the Giants this week, which adds a reliable target that DeVito hasn’t had since he took over. For the Saints, Chris Olave is questionable with an ankle injury.

Betting Picks & Predictions

At the end of the day, the Saints should not be six-point favorites against anyone besides the Panthers.

The Giants are tough defensively and have found some momentum. Tommy DeVito should be able to do just enough to keep this game close.

Pick: Giants +5.5 (-112) | Bet to +3.5
