Today, we will create a custom No Runs First Inning (NRFI) bet by analyzing the performances of two pitchers. This personalized bet can be crafted through sportsbooks such as DraftKings and Barstool. This NRFI bet is different from a traditional NRFI, as it combines two separate half innings from the first innings of two different games. This approach allows you to have a better edge and tailor the bet to your preferences.

Our first selection for today's custom NRFI is Jose Berrios, the seasoned veteran from the Toronto Blue Jays. Berrios has been in outstanding form to the NRFI this season, boasting an 11-3 record. His overall NRFI performance since 2022 stands at 34-12, with an 18-8 split on the road.

A significant factor contributing to Berrios' NRFI success this season is his ability to neutralize leadoff hitters, limiting them to a mere .175 batting average, with only seven hits allowed in 40 at-bats. When facing the Miami Marlins directly, Berrios has found success, particularly against hitters such as Garrett Cooper (0-3), Joey Wendle (0-5), Yuli Gurriel (2-13), Jorge Soler (5-21) and Luis Arraez (3-10).

Additionally, the Marlins have struggled significantly as a first-inning hitting team this season, with a measly .143 average in the past seven days, resulting in just three hits in their last 25 plate appearances.

The second NRFI selection is Merrill Kelly of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Kelly has proven to be a formidable NRFI pitcher this season, holding a 12-2 record. His road NRFI performance has been flawless, with a perfect 6-0 split. Since last season, Kelly holds an 18-4 NRFI record when pitching away from home.

Similar to Berrios, Kelly excels in neutralizing leadoff hitters, allowing only a .081 batting average, with just three hits surrendered in 37 at-bats. Notably, Kelly has had success against hitters from the Milwaukee Brewers in past matchups, including Brian Anderson (2-8), William Contreras (1-5), Rowdy Tellez (0-11), Luis Urias (2-12) and Christian Yelich (1-17).

This custom NRFI selection provides excellent value, with its best odds at -141 at DraftKings.

As always, six outs to glory…

Pick: Berrios & Kelly NRFI (-141 at DraftKings)
