Brit Devine's Diamondbacks vs Braves Best Bet: Back Braves at Home

These odds make very little sense to me.

Braves starter Grant Holmes is having a reasonably good season, as his transition into a full-time starter is looking good. On the other hand, Arizona starter Brandon Pfaadt has been hit hard in five of his past six starts and has advanced metrics that might even have him doing worse than the box scores have indicated. The Braves typically always play their guys, so we have very little to worry about with the scenario of a day game after a night game in terms of anyone missing this contest. I would also give the Braves a bullpen advantage as the Arizona bullpen has had some really rough performances over the past few weeks.

I can see these odds moving to -150, which is where I would play it to. I'm betting this to win two units.

Pick: Braves Moneyline (-135)

Brit Devine's Tigers vs White Sox Best Bet: Fade Chicago

Tigers -1.5 (-130)

The Tigers should be able to cruise to victory thanks to huge starting pitching and offensive advantages.

Casey Mize has looked great for the Tigers and White Sox starter Sean Burke has had some moments, but is a clear step down compared to how well Mize has been throwing. The Tigers' offense has been a little above league average over the past 30 days against right-handed pitching, but the White Sox rank last in wOBA in that span against right-handed pitching.

With how good Mize has been, and with his advanced metrics backing that up, it might only take a few runs from the Tigers to get us across the finish line.

Pick: Tigers -1.5 (-130)

Dead President Picks' Mets vs Dodgers Best Bet: Expect Dodgers to Bounce Back

We will trust the Dodgers to bounce back after being shut out last night.

Los Angeles drawls a favorable matchup today against Mets starter David Peterson. The Dodgers are batting .356 as a team against Peterson in 118 at-bats. Tony Gonsolin will get the nod for the Dodgers and has held the Mets to a .234 batting average over 77 at-bats.

Pick: Dodgers Moneyline (-130)
